Cannot have a BM

Postby Tina31 » Sat Jun 07, 2008 6:02 pm

I am experiencing unbelievable discomfort. The past two weeks have been hell for me and I really want to put this all behind me and enjoy time with my kids. I was just diagnosed with genital herpes. Urinating was a nightmare but thanks to my OB/GYN that was alleviated. All this caused me to have hemorrhoids. She told me to drink magnesium citrate. I did and that was the most painful nightmare. I thought after that I would be alright. But I'm not. I've uped my fiber intake. I am taking Gas-X to lessen the sharp shooting pain in my rectum. I have been applying Prep H and using the wipes too. I cannot have a proper BM. The pain will not allow it to come out. How can I pass stools without passing out? Without sreaming and scaring the kids? Please help. I am tired of this feeling of fullness in my rectum. Thank you!

Hi Tina,
have you tried something like prune juice?...this may well soften up your bowel movement enough to allow you to pass it without as much pain. Be careful not to take too much to begin with or you could end up with 'the runs', some people are quite sensitive to it (I am!).

If you are taking a fiber supplement, make sure you are drinking enough water too otherwise the fiber will cause you to 'clog up'.

Hope the info helps...let me know how you get on :)

Good luck!
