Questions About Hemorrhoids, helpplease

Postby ronaldo on Thu Dec 31, 2009 5:45 pm

I first noticed some blood appearing on my tp several months ago.

I went to go see a doctor and he told me to get some preparation h.

I bought the cream first but it seemed like a lot more work to rub cream all over your anus three times a day than to just stick a pill in there

I bought the sepositories, the ones you insert in your anus (i was told they work better anyway)

I have been using the supositories for about two months now but i haven't made a consistent effort (at least 2x/day)

I just bought a new box and put one in in the morning, i now plan to put another one in before bed and continue using at least two a day (morning/night/after bowel movements)

My questions to you guys are, if you'll please help me,

Are these things going to ever go away??

How long is it going to take??

Is it, likely, going to come back?

I basically thought, for sure, that they would be gone by now. I didn't think it was going to be that hard to get rid of them, but it seems to me now that you really have to make a serious effort

They don't ever really go away but you CAN control them. You may have to adjust your lifestyle a little bit. Basically they are blood veins that are under pressure due to one or more health factors. If you have ever blown up a balloon you know that when you apply air pressure to the balloon that its walls will stretch and swell as you blow into it. Your blood vein is similar to that and when you increase the blood pressure in the vein it wants to stretch and swell just like the balloon. What increases the pressure in your blood veins? It could be one thing or it could be a combination of factors. Some of the more common reasons for hemorrhoids forming are.... straining due to constipation, being overweight, pregnancy, diet and lack of exercise. These are all possible causal factors. How do you get rid of them? RULE #1 - Avoid constipation. Eat high fiber, healthy foods. Get plenty of water. If that alone doesn't work then their are herbal, all natural products that will help. Look for something with witch hazel in it, those products are generally very effective. I have never had great results with creams or suppositories but some people have. I guess it depends on what stage the hemorrhoid is at. Hope this helps. If you have questions you can look at my profile for my website and email address. Feel free to email me if you like. I suffered from hemorrhoids for several years before I found a way to control them so I know what you're going through.
